EUNIC
In the frame of our Culture Connects work and under the leadership of the artists Mehdi Hachid and Reslane Lounici, the British Council Algeria and DOJO Space hosted a transformative workshop titled From Waste to Living Art, aimed at developing local talent in recycled art and raising awareness about the critical importance of recycling through creative expression. This workshop, which involved 7 selected students from the British Council, offered a hands-on experience at the intersection of art and environmental activism.

Over three days, participants explored innovative and eco-responsible approaches to art. They were introduced to the world of bioinspired and avant-garde art, with a focus on how creativity can drive environmental awareness. Key activities during the workshop included:

Learning to build a Mobile Photography studio using environmentally sustainable materials.

Experimenting with natural and bio-sourced materials to create unique, eco-friendly works of art.

Producing a collection of photographs and other artworks that reflected their commitment to environmental issues.

The activity provided participants with valuable skills in both artistic creation and sustainable practices, empowering them to use their creativity as a tool for raising awareness about environmental conservation. The final artworks, including sublime photographs and eco-conscious creations, echoed the students' vision of a greener, more sustainable future.

This workshop is part of the project "A Journey from Waste to Art" led by the EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) Cluster in Algeria.
