CineMash, an innovative residency was founded to bridge the gap between limited budgets and high artistic quality in short films. It united multidisciplinary artists to create cinematic works, fostering creativity and collaboration.
The first edition, CINEMASH 23 partnered with Solis “let’s make Your Film” initiative and supported by the International Collaboration Grant of British Council gathered Four selected short films benefited from workshops and masterclasses, where future screenwriters and directors collaborated with artists and musicians. Through this post, we would like to celebrate two achievements from among the participants:
Labib’s journey
Labib an inspiring filmmaker, directed his debut short film “INOUI” during the residency. the film received a Special Mention from the international jury at the A PREMIERE VUE Prize in Marseille and was selected for the PREMIERE VUE- TV5 MONDE Collection at the 2024 Cannes Festival.
Sirine’s Dream
Sirine Achir, passionate about cinema and women’s rights started her first documentary ASWAT, at CINEMASH. Her project gained international recognition at the Annaba Film Festival, thanks to the skills and support she received from the residency.
