Role overview

The British Council is seeking Young Learner Assistants to support our Young Learner programme.
You will be required to work together with a British Council teacher to ensure compliance of our Child Protection policy,  to deliver and assess placement tests, and to take part in the preparation and
classroom management of young learners classes for 6 – 8,  9 – 11, 12 -14 and 15-17 year olds.

Recquirements :

  • Age- 18 and above.
  • Education, University under-graduate level and above.
  • Should be able to speak English at a strong intermediate level and above.
  • Willing to work with children while strictly adhering to British Council’s Child Protection policy.
  • A teaching internship or qualification is desirable.

Key responsibilities :

  • Being present at the Teaching Centre premises as Young Learner Assistants to keep in place our Child Protection policy guidelines.
  • Assessing Placement test papers and conducting speaking tests for candidates who come in to register.
  • Helping the teacher in the classroom with setting up activities.
