British Council Algeria's 'green' webinars

Between March and May 2021, the British Council Algeria ran a series of webinars on environment-related themes. The webinars featured presentations showcasing the sustainability expertise and experience of a number of UK Higher Education Institutions.

Webinar themes and recordings

The webinars were carried out in English, recorded, and are now available on our regional Youtube channel, along with Arabic- and French-subtitled versions. The following themes were covered:

  • Future Energy - Including carbon reduction and achievement of NetZero emissions. Future power generation and efficiency. What can students encourage a university to do?

  • A blueprint for a green future - Today we sit at a pivotal moment in history. The toll that COVID-19 has wreaked on humanity is immense. But as we look to how the world can emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient, we must face head-on the triple challenge of responding to the threats posed by growing social inequality, the destruction of nature and climate change.
